So I can honestly say that this has been the most eventful Christmas in years. All I wanted for Christmas was to be with my entire family, Gabe the kids, my bro his family my sister and Matt and of course my Mom and Bob. We stayed up late Christmas Eve playing with the kids and then eventually wrapping presents from Santa. The kids woke up opened their gifts and I begged Gabe to let us go to Utah because I knew my family would be up there, he was touch and go the whole week on the subject because we knew the storm was going to be bad and because we are the poor of the family we really couldn't afford to go up but he knew that is all I wanted so he agreed, we got together and left the house at 11am keep in mind its only a 2hr drive to my moms house, as we get on the road we get a damn flat tire and to make it even better there is no air in the spare so we were off the side of the road Gabe's friend came to our rescue but we had to wait for him to get to us, then they had to drive back to town to get air in the tire then we had to wait for them to get back and put the tire on UGGHHHH!!!!!! By now 2 1/2 hours have passed and the storm is getting worse finally by 3pm we are up and running, Gabe's pissed the kids are tired of being in the car and we have 2 1/2 hours more to go. Everything was pointing for us to turn around and go home. But I wouldnt give up I knew what I wanted and I was going for it but in the back of my head I was replaying all the reasons we shouldn't be going. But it's Christmas so it didnt matter, we finally get up to my moms about 6pm after going through the storm. Everyone was there the kids were soooo happy and excited to see the family they love their cousins soooo very much it reminds me of growing up and always being with our cousins. The kids miss grandma and grandpa sooo very much that they couldn't get out of the truck fast enough. Mom had made some wonderful food we sat around and chit chatted for a bit and then we saw the storm, holy hell complete white out and mom lost power at the house, Gabe and Justin (my bro) jump in the trucks and drive around to see if we could make it home, sure enough they were ready to go, it took a matter of 5min to get the kids up and in the trucks which to me was funny since goodbyes usually take 30min. We drove no faster than 35mph all the way to Hurricane, then Gabe was tired and exhausted and thought we were out of the storm so let me drive HA HA on us, got to the gorge and complete white out again I couldn't go over 10mph in some places. Gabe was sooo tired at this point from the days events that he didnt say much but I knew he was ready to crap his pants. We finally made it home and we were all sooo exhausted I don't think any of us got out of our clothes before we went to sleep. Needless to say as many things that went horribly wrong I was happy to see my family as short lived as it was.
